Cost issues in controlling reflux

Postby usated on Mon Feb 25, 2008 11:23 pm

I've used a number of products over the years to control symptoms of reflux - antacids seem to work sometimes however I have found either Zantac (at a twice daily dose) or Prilosec to be the best. The problem becomes cost, as prolonged bouts of reflux require extenting the time meds are used to control my symtoms. After a lot of research I have found reputable online pharmacies that provide meds at a significantly reduced cost compared to US prices. It would be more convenient to get my meds locally but I cannot find anywhere in the US that provides these products at prices comparable to those available through online pharmacies - does anybody have information on US sources of reasonably priced Zantac generic or Prilosec?

I have used Zantac and also Pepcid in the past. In most countries these two meds are non prescription and so you can buy them online with relative ease. You are right in that these meds are a lot cheaper outside of the US, and added to that the cost (or lack of) visiting a Doctor and the overall cost is relatively cheap. As long as you plan ahead and place your order online before you need the meds, you're OK. In my experience an order will take around 10 days to reach me.
